Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Chibis is built privacy-first: the keychains themselves carry no tracking, and this website collects only what it needs. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data we process, why, and who helps us do it.

1Who is responsible

The controller for data processing on chibis.ch is Renato Oliveira, 2740 Moutier, Switzerland. For any privacy question or request, write to info@chibis.ch or use the contact form.

2What we collect and why

Forms: When you use the contact form, the Lost & Found report, or the shop waitlist, we receive what you type (such as name, email, phone, message). We use it only to answer you, relay a lost-item report, or notify you at launch.

Orders: When you buy a Chibi, the order is processed through Shopify's checkout. We receive the data needed to fulfil your order (name, shipping address, email, items ordered). We never see or store your full payment card details; payment is handled entirely by Shopify and its payment providers.

Technical data: Like almost every website, our hosting provider records server logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and operation.

3Who processes data for us

Infomaniak (Switzerland): hosts this website. Server logs stay in Switzerland.

Shopify (Shopify International Ltd., Ireland / Shopify Inc., Canada/USA): runs the shop checkout and payment processing. Order and payment data are processed by Shopify, potentially outside Switzerland, under Shopify's safeguards and privacy policy.

Formspree Inc. (USA): delivers our form submissions (contact, Lost & Found, waitlist) to our inbox. What you submit in a form is processed on Formspree's servers in the USA.

Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA): this site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which transmits your IP address to Google when the page loads, and uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (see Cookies below).

We do not sell personal data, we do not run a newsletter, and we share data with no one beyond the processors listed above.

4Cookies and analytics

Language cookie: a single functional cookie (lang) remembers your language choice for one year. It identifies nothing about you.

Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to measure visits and improve the site. Google sets cookies and processes usage data (including your IP address) partly in the USA. You can prevent this with browser settings, ad blockers, or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

No other tracking is used. The Chibi keychains themselves contain no GPS, no tracking, and no connectivity; they are fully offline objects.

5The Lost & Found privacy bridge

Our Lost & Found is designed as a privacy bridge: a finder's report goes to chibis.ch, never directly to the owner. We never disclose the owner's contact details to the finder, nor the finder's to the owner, without explicit consent from both. Optional finder details are used solely to relay a reply and are deleted once the case is resolved.

6How long we keep data

Form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Order data is retained as required by Swiss commercial and accounting law (up to 10 years). Lost & Found reports are deleted after the case is closed.

7Your rights

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG), and where applicable the EU GDPR, you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you can object to processing. Just email info@chibis.ch; no special form needed. You also have the right to complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

8Changes

We may update this policy when the website or our tools change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date above.
